I am writing this post from my new XO computer. If you don’t know what that is check out OLPC. Santa Claus brought everyone in my family one and by doing so the folks at OLPC were able to give four children one of there own. The computer is very small and although the keyboard is a full qwerty keyboard I am having a little trouble 🙂 but getting use to it. I just downloaded Alice in Wonderland to try out the ebook capibility, I think maybe tomorrow evening I will read some to Duncan and Jordan. We have only had them since Christmas and have already broken one 🙁 my fault I pluged them in to charge, but not in a very saft way, I had them on the dining room table and the plugs across a walkway. Well Duncan came running through the room and bam two were on the floor. some good luck, the XO I am currently using is one of the one’s that fell and it is no worse for ware, but Samar’s XO the screen cracked :-/. I haven’t yet gotten around to trying ti figure out how I’m going to fix it. Well my fingers are getting tired I’ll post more about our XO experiences later. Jordan really likes the implode game. I may try my hand at writing a card game (crazy 8’s maybe).
Thoughts, prayers, and hopes
Our thoughts, prayers and hopes are with Caleb and his family.
Two new additions
So both Lisa and Dayan had their babies. Lisa yesterday and Dayan today. Dayan decided to have her labor at home and didn’t go to the hospital until the last minute :-D.

My dearest friends, let me share with you a sad story with a happy ending. Three weeks ago I was robbed and I lost everything. HUH???!!! Let me elaborate further. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I had to move out of my apartment immediately. So I packed most of my clothes and essential life items into the trunk of my car and rode off directly to work. After work, I returned to my car to find the passenger window shattered, the trunk popped, and everything gone. A homeless woman was sleeping in the back seat using my sweatshirt and backpack as a blanket (Oh dear). I tapped on the rear car window and woke up the sleeping woman, who was clearly as startled as myself. And for a moment, there we were together, her and I, the same woman: homeless and posessionless in a cold alley in a city (forgive my dramatic indulgence—I do not take for granted that I am more fortunate than this poor woman, being that I have my health, a job, a car, and a kind friend’s couch to sleep on). So anyways, I calmly but firmly asked the woman to vacate my car and off she went, still clutching my sweatshirt and backpack. I just stood there, stunned, watching her leave with the last of my belongings—I mean, if I had to refuse this woman shelter, the least I could do was give her warmth…? Continue reading
